Job summary

UnityPoint Health is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support the PACE Clinic. You will work under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist to deliver therapeutic interventions that promote independence and meaningful daily activities across care settings.

You will build strong patient relationships, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and contribute to patient-centered care aimed at positive outcomes throughout the lifespan.

Qualifications

• Meets the educational requirements necessary to obtain a professional license as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant.
• Prior work as a COTA in practice area preferred.
• Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapist Assistant required.
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, evidence-based interventions alongside Occupational Therapists to improve function and independence.
• Educate patients and caregivers, monitor progress, and collaborate to optimize outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and billing, participate in care conferences, and ensure regulatory and payer compliance.
• Support quality improvement, supervision of staff, and participation in team meetings and program enhancement activities.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Occupational Therapists to provide individualized, evidence-based interventions that help patients improve function, independence, and participation in meaningful daily activities.
• Educate patients and caregivers, monitor progress, and collaborate to optimize outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and billing, participate in care conferences, communicate effectively with the supervising OT and interdisciplinary team, and ensure compliance with regulatory, payer, and organizational requirements.
• Support a culture of excellence through quality improvement initiatives, clinical supervision of support staff, professional development, and participation in team meetings, education, and program enhancement activities that elevate the patient’s experience and care delivery.

Qualifications

Education:

• Meets the educational requirements necessary to obtain a professional license as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant required.

Experience:

• Prior work as a COTA in practice area preferred.

• Holds a current license to practice as an Occupational Therapist Assistant required.
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) required.
