Job Summary

Under the supervision of the manager, a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) assists the OT in delivering treatment, supports assessment, documents treatment, participates in discharge planning, performs administrative duties, engages in quality improvement (PI), pursues professional growth, assists with student education, oversees aides, volunteers, and students, and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• National certification by NBCOT and BLS certification from AHA or ARC required within 3 months of hire.
• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Minimum 1 year acute care experience preferred.
• No prior experience required, but prior experience is an advantage.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members.
• Strong critical thinking skills.
• Ability to communicate with patients using auditory input and output.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
