Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Rock Island, IL is seeking a PRN Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to join an interdisciplinary team. You’ll provide Occupational Therapy interventions across Acute Care, Transitional Care, and Inpatient Rehab settings, tailor education for patients and families, and document care in the electronic medical record.

You’ll supervise OTA students and Rehab Aides, participate in team conferences, and support a flexible schedule between 7:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Associates degree from an accredited OTA program.
• Current IA and IL COTA (or eligible).
• Current CPR certification.
• NBCOT certification within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide Occupational Therapy interventions in accordance with established standards of care, policies, procedures, and state/federal law.
• Participate in patient care conferences/ staffing as appropriate. Supervise and complete documentation for OTA students as assigned by CCCE.
• Complete documentation in the electronic medical record in a timely manner in accordance with department and professional expectations.
• Demonstrates UnityPoint Health Values and adheres to policies, procedures and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide Occupational Therapy interventions in accordance with established standards of care, policies, procedures, and state/federal law. Adjustment of splints, therapeutic garments, and adaptive equipment.
• Participate in patient care conferences/ staffing as appropriate. Acute care- Complex Care meeting. Transitional Care Unit- Patient staffing. Supervise and complete appropriate documentation for Occupational Therapy Assistant students as assigned by CCCE.
• Complete documentation in electronic medical record in a timely manner in accordance within department and professional expectations demonstrating the need for skilled interventions.
• Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

Education:

• Certificate or Associates degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

License(s)/Certification(s):

• Current IA and IL COTA (or eligible).
• Current CPR certification.
• NBCOT National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy within 60 days of hire
