Role Description

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) at Hand Therapy Partners will provide direct patient care under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, focusing on hand and upper extremity rehabilitation in an on-site clinic located in Peoria, AZ. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, assisting with therapeutic exercises and activities, monitoring patient progress, and documenting interventions according to professional and regulatory standards. The COTA will educate patients and families on home programs, safety, and functional strategies, and collaborate with the clinical team to support program development and quality improvement initiatives. This is a full-time, on-site role that requires active participation in a supportive, learning-centered environment aligned with Hand Therapy Partner’s mission.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills, or interest, in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation, particularly in hand and upper extremity therapy.
• Candidates should demonstrate excellence in Patient Care, including therapeutic intervention delivery, patient education, and progress monitoring.
• Candidates should have capabilities in Program Development to assist with treatment protocols, clinic initiatives, and educational content.
• Candidates should be able to support Home Care planning, including designing and teaching effective home exercise programs.
• Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) and licensure in Arizona, or eligibility for licensure. Or pending certification.
• Experience in outpatient orthopedics or hand therapy is preferred; new graduates with strong clinical skills and interest in hand therapy are encouraged to apply.
