Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist occupational therapists in providing personalized treatment programs aimed at helping patients develop, regain, or maintain their daily living abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized treatment plans.
2. Work directly with patients to perform therapeutic exercises and activities to improve motor skills, mobility, strength, coordination, and sensory processing.
3. Collaborate with occupational therapists to adjust treatment plans based on patient progress.
4. Educate patients and families on exercises, adaptive equipment, and techniques to promote independence.
5. Accurately document patient progress, interventions, and outcomes.
6. Support procurement and maintenance of adaptive equipment and assistive devices.
7. Maintain a safe, clean, and infection-controlled therapy environment.
8. Communicate effectively within an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care.
9. Stay current with occupational therapy best practices through ongoing education.
10. Uphold ethical standards and professional conduct as per regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program.
• Current NBCOT certification as a COTA.
• State licensure or eligibility for licensure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
