Job description

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant - FT

Join our team as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) at Bluestem Communities! We are seeking a full-time professional to provide occupational therapy services under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists.

Position Overview

The primary role of the COTA is to assist PACE participants with occupational therapy, aiming to improve or maintain their physical, emotional, or mental functions through various modalities. The COTA will implement treatment plans, assist with patient education, and document progress in accordance with organizational policies.

Essential Job Functions
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, communicate participant changes, and assist in care planning and coordination.
  • Implement treatment plans, assess home environments for safety, and educate participants and families on care and use of equipment.
  • Document treatment progress and participant responses, and train staff in safety and activity maximization techniques.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Must be at least 18 years old and certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • Valid driver’s license with proof of insurance.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience with elderly or frail populations.
  • Knowledge of gerontology, adaptive equipment, and physical environment adaptations.
