Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to assist with therapy activities and exercises, under an OT's supervision, to improve quality of life and daily living skills. You will monitor and document patient progress, implementing interventions aligned with licensure and plan goals.

The role supports post-acute, long-term care, and home health settings as needed, with BLS within six months and state licensure required.

Qualifications

• Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
• Must be licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state(s) of practice.
• NBCOT certification preferred for Sanford Health facilities.
• Conforms to supervision and licensing standards of the state(s) where services are provided.
• May require a valid driver's license.
• BLS certification required within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients/residents/clients with therapy activities and exercises scheduled in a treatment plan under OT supervision.
• Provides, monitors and records therapy services for various impairments as part of standard practice.
• Selects and implements therapeutic activities aligned with goals and licensure requirements.
• Communicates patient responses to the occupational therapist and documents outcomes.
• Work may focus on post-acute, long-term care, and home health environments depending on location.
