Job summary

SSM Health Day Institute in Bridgeton, MO seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Float to support our outpatient rehabilitation program. The role covers 10 locations across the St. Louis metro area and is based out of the Bridgeton Day Institute.

Responsibilities include implementing the therapy plan under supervision, coordinating with supervising OT, and contributing to patient and family education. Comprehensive benefits and professional development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in an OT Assistant program required.
• Current and valid state licensure or eligibility as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) required.
• CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of a licensed OT, assists with the implementation of the therapy plan of care.
• Delegates and directs supportive personnel for assigned patients to enhance patient care services.
• Communicates with supervising OT regarding scheduled patients to ensure assessment and reassessment of patients, modification of treatment plans and other interventions.
• Participates in education of patients, families, students, coworkers and self.
• Performs other professional duties associated with patient care within the scope of practice.

We have 10 centers across the St. Louis Metro area serving individuals recovering from a traumatic injury or illness who no longer require 24-hour nursing or acute rehabilitative care.
