Job summary

SSM Health Day Institute in Bridgeton, MO is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our outpatient rehabilitation team as a Float PTA. The role requires dual licensure for MO and IL and entails floating between eastern location sites while integrating into diverse patient care plans.

Under direct supervision of a licensed PT, you will assist with therapy plans, educate patients and families, and help maintain high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s Degree in a PTA program required (per job posting).
• Current and valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) required.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision of a licensed PT, assists with the implementation of the therapy plan of care.
• Responsible for delegation and direction of supportive personnel for patients, to enhance patient care services.
• Communicates with supervising PT regarding scheduled patients to ensure assessment and reassessment of patients, modification of treatment plans and other interventions.
• Participates in education of patients, families, students, coworkers and self.
• Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, within the scope of practice.

SSM Health Day Institute is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to work in our specialized outpatient rehabilitation program as a Float PTA. This position will require the candidate to be, or willing to obtain, dual licensed for both MO & IL. The primary responsiblities of this position will be to float between the 5 most eastern locations - Sunset Hills, Arnold, Olivette, Florissant and O'Fallon, IL. There may also be need to cover some of the other locations as well.

We have ten centers across the St. Louis Metro area serving individuals recovering from a traumatic injury or illness who no longer require 24-hour nursing or acute rehabilitative care.
