Job summary

Hcshiring is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist in a home care setting. This is a professional position with clinical responsibilities and some administrative duties.

You will work under OT supervision, follow state laws, implement treatment plans within your scope, and contribute to quality resident care while supporting ongoing rehabilitation programs.

Qualifications

• Must possess a degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
• Maintain a current, unrestricted OTA license in the assigned state.
• Adaptability, compassion and attention to detail required.
• Ability to kneel, stoop and stand for long periods with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care under supervision of an Occupational Therapist in home care.
• Follow state-specific laws governing OT services in home care.
• Recommend changes to the plan of care to the supervising OT.

Job description

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant assumes clinical responsibility in an assigned facility. This is a professional position with the primary responsibility of direct patient care under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist. Additional duties of an administrative nature are to be performed as assigned.

You will:

• Under the supervision of a Occupational Therapist, is at all times responsible to follow all state specific laws governing the provision of occupational therapy in home care
• Follow the treatment set only as defined by the Occupational Therapist; to perform only those procedures that the COTA is qualified and trained to perform
• Make all recommendations for changes in the plan of care to the supervising Occupational Therapist.

You currently:

• Possess a degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
• Possess, prior to, onboarding and maintain a current, unrestricted license to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in assigned state.
• Adaptability, compassion, detail oriented, friendly & courteous.
• A moderate degree of physical strength is needed because of the exertion required to assist patients.
• Ability tokneel, stoop and stand for long periods of time with or without accommodation.
