Job summary

Chestertown Nursing and Rehab in Chestertown, MD is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for full-time or part-time roles. You will work under supervision of an OTR, provide comprehensive treatment, and contribute to a compassionate geriatrics care team.

Qualifications

• COTA certification required per state licensing guidelines.
• Active Maryland licensure/registration as applicable (as required).
• Experience in geriatric rehabilitation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive occupational therapy treatment under supervision of an OTR.
• Assist OT in identifying suitable patients and referring them to rehab as needed.
• Document patient participation and progress accurately in progress notes with co-signature by the OTR.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, re-certifications and discharges.
• Assist with other documentation requirements in line with state guidelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Occupational Therapy that is recognized by the AOTA.
• Recognized by the NBCOT as a designated COTA (if state mandated).
• Holds current license and/or registration in the state (as applicable).

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of an OTR and according to state guidelines.
• Assist OT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient’s daily participation and progress on progress note in an accurate and timely fashion, and obtain the co-signature of the OTR.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, re-certifications and discharges.
• Assist with other documentation requirements as indicated and according to state guidelines.

Rates factor by experience: FT $28-35, PRN $35-40
