Description

POSITION SUMMARY: This position is for the 2025-2026 school-year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide Occupational Therapy Services as indicated in a student’s IEP or 504 Service Plan while maintaining a time efficient schedule.
• Ability to work independently daily.
• Complete student screenings and reevaluations utilizing a variety of methods including standardized assessments.
• Work closely with the supervising OT.
• Collaborate as part of the student’s educational team, including the student’s family, to meet educational needs in the least restrictive environment.
• Work with students aged 5-21, without bias or prejudice related to race, creed, gender, or disability.
• Understand and respect the role of an Occupational Therapist within the educational team, while honoring the student’s and family’s role in guiding meaningful occupations.
• Practice ethically, respecting cultural, ethnic, and religious beliefs, and adhere to applicable laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education / Training:

• Graduate of an accredited program approved by The Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) with an Associate Degree as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Must hold a valid license/certification issued by the State Board of Occupational Therapy.
• CPR certification required.
• Must pass criminal background checks, FBI fingerprinting, and child abuse clearance.

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

• Customer/client orientation.
• Attention to detail and attentiveness.
• Ability to lift/move heavy objects.
• Ability to stand for long periods.

Physical Requirements:

• Activities include sitting, walking, squatting, stooping, lifting, bending, reaching.
• Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and lift 100 pounds.
