Job Description - Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (2500003H)

Position: Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

Description:

Accountability Objective: Responsible for implementing school-based occupational therapy programs under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist.

Principal Accountabilities:

  1. Participate in, review, and discuss evaluation results and IEP reports.
  2. Implement individual, group, classroom, and consultative occupational therapy services to meet students' educational needs.
  3. Schedule students efficiently to receive occupational therapy services.
  4. Use evidence-based practices and appropriate materials to deliver therapeutic services.
  5. Consult with educational staff, therapy colleagues, and parents regarding occupational therapy needs and services.
  6. Maintain student files following departmental procedures and complete documentation timely.
  7. Prepare and submit ACCESS billing for eligible students.
  8. Monitor and document student progress using data collection.
  9. Provide current treatment schedules and updates to administration as needed.
  10. Ensure confidentiality and protect student data per HIPAA/FERPA and AIU policies.
  11. Utilize email, word processing, Excel, and online IEP systems proficiently.
  12. Report caseload trends, district needs, and student concerns to administrative staff promptly.
  13. Collaborate with supervising occupational therapists and adhere to practice acts and licensure regulations.
  14. Attend staff meetings, in-services, and serve on committees as required.

Qualifications:

  • Valid PA Occupational Therapist Assistant License
  • Occupational Therapist Assistant Degree
  • Preferred: Pediatric school-based experience
