Unalaska City School District is seeking an Occupational Therapist for the 2026-2027 school year. The Occupational Therapist provides essential services for students with disabilities, developing individualized therapy programs aligned with IEPs.
This position offers a $2,000 signing bonus after the first 30 days and includes benefits such as accrued sick leave, paid holidays, and comprehensive medical coverage. Applicants must be certified or eligible for licensure in Alaska.
This position is for the 2026-2027 school year.
The successful external (non-FEA) applicant will receive a $2,000 signing bonus following the first 30 days of his/her contract.
In the educational system, Occupational Therapists function as related service providers on an interdisciplinary team whose purpose is to provide an appropriate educational program for students with disabilities, including students from age three to twenty-one years of age with physical, mental, developmental, emotional, social, learning, and/or visual/hearing disabilities through their Individual Education Plans (IEP). The Occupational Therapist evaluates students’ strengths and needs, develops and implements therapy programs, provides consultative services to school team members, and manages occupational therapy programs in accordance with the philosophy, laws, rules, and regulations of their professions as well as that of the School District. The Occupational Therapist coordinates services with educational goals identified in students’ IEPs.
Retirement: State of Alaska TRS
Bargaining Unit: Fairbanks Education Association (FEA)
Salary: Determined by the FEA Negotiated Agreement
Contract Length: Minimum of 180 days
