Job summary

Baptist Health System is seeking a patient care support role to assist nurses with basic and intermediate care, ensuring comfort and safe patient experiences. You will work under RN supervision across multiple units and contribute to a caring, faith-based health system.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and professional credentials (CNA/EMT/MA, etc.), plus at least two years of clinical experience. BLS and crisis intervention training are required within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or equivalent; graduate of Nurse Aide, Medical Assistant or EMT program.
  • 2 years of clinical experience (Inpatient, Emergency Department, or Skilled Nursing Unit).
  • Current EMT, CNA, Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Phlebotomist, EKG Tech certification required.
  • BLS and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer to position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic and intermediate nursing care for assigned patients under RN supervision.
  • Care for patients across various units described (Maternal Child, Emergency, Surgical Services, Pediatric, etc.).
  • Complete established competencies within the designated introductory period; perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Summary

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus
Under the direction/supervision of RN, provides basic and intermediate nursing care for assigned group of patients based on competence.
General Nursing Units

care for patients from age 15 years to maturity by clinically competent nursing staff
Special Care Areas

care for patients 15 years through adult with high-risk conditions by clinically competent nursing staff.
Maternal Child Units:

Labor and Delivery care includes patients who have a pregnancy related condition by staff who are clinically /competent in maternity care
Nursery care includes care for newborn until discharge status by clinically competent staff.
Pediatric clinically competent staff provides care to patients from neonate through age of eighteen
GI Lab Unit

cares for toddlers, beginning age 24 months, through adult by clinically competent staff. Chemical Dependent Unit and Psychiatric Unit cares for adult patients and family with holistic approach to emotional problems by clinically competent nursing staff.
Emergency Unit

provides care to presenting patients of all ages by clinically competent staff in pediatric high-risk adult care
Surgical Services

provides care to patients from neonate to geriatric
Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

High School Graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited Nurse Aide, Medical Assistant or intermediate or higher level Emergency Medical Technician program.
PREFERRED EDUCATION:

Satisfactory completed a nurse aide course, EMT, Paramedic, Medical Assisting
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

2 years of clinical experience (Inpatient, Emergency Department, or Skilled Nursing Unit)
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:

Current Emergency Medical Technician, Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Phlebotomist, EKG Tech certification required
REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR):

BLS -Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer to position
