Job summary

Baptist Health System is seeking a patient-care support role at Northeast Baptist Hospital. Under RN supervision, you will provide basic nursing care and support across units including Labor and Delivery, Nursery, Pediatrics, ER, and Surgical Services.

The role emphasizes compassionate care and teamwork in a large hospital network. Minimum education is a High School Graduate or equivalent; preferred completion of a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, or Medical Assisting course.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction/supervision of an RN, provides basic nursing care for assigned group of patients.
• General Nursing Units care for patients from age 15 years to maturity by clinically competent nursing staff.
• Special Care Areas care for patients from age 15 years through adult with high risk conditions by clinically competent nursing staff.
• Maternal Child Units: Labor and Delivery care includes patients with pregnancy-related conditions by staff competent in maternity care.
• Nursery care includes care for newborn until discharge by clinically competent staff.
• Pediatric care for patients from neonate through age 18 by staff.
• GI Lab Unit care for toddlers age 24 months through adult by staff.
• Chemical Dependent Unit and Psychiatric Unit care for adult patients and family with holistic approach by staff.
• Emergency Unit provides care to patients of all ages by staff in pediatric and high-risk adult care.
• Surgical Services care for patients from neonate to geriatric.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent

PREFERRED EDUCATION: Satisfactorily completed a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic or Medical Assisting course.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 6 months in healthcare industry and/or knowledge of basic medical terms and procedures

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:

• Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire
