Job summary

Valley Health System is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide routine personal care for patients under RN/LPN supervision. You will help maintain safety, report issues, and support patient-centered care in our facilities on the third shift.

As you gain experience, you may precept new CNAs. Education requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, CN A registry, and BLS/CPR certifications. VA/WV work locations apply; a benefits package is included.

• Has reliable phone communication with hospital.
• Willing to obtain Valley Health annual flu vaccination if in Long-Term Care areas.

Job Title / Description

The CNA, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, performs routine personal care duties for patients. Maintains a safe environment and reports any problems. Supports the mission and vision of Winchester Rehabilitation Center and Winchester Medical Center. Once experienced, may act as a preceptor in the orientation of new CNA's.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Certification & Licensures

• Registry of the Board of Nursing as a Certified Nurse Aide required. Must be listed on the relevant Registry of the Board of Nursing as a Certified Nurse Aide in Virginia and/or West Virginia based on work location(s) within Valley Health.
• BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required.
• New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.

Qualifications
