Qualifications

Job Summary

Capella Recovery is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and motivated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Mental Health Technician (MHT) to join our behavioral health team in Alpharetta, Georgia.

This is a full-time position working either the 3:00 PM-11:00 PM or 11:00 PM-7:00 AM shift. Weekend availability is required.

The CNA/MHT provides direct patient support, assists with activities of daily living, monitors patient safety and behaviors, completes required observations and documentation, and helps maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care and support to patients in a behavioral health setting.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and personal care within CNA scope of practice.
• Complete scheduled patient observations and safety rounds.
• Observe and document changes in patient behavior, mood, functioning, or safety concerns.
• Promptly report medical, behavioral, or safety concerns to nursing staff.
• Utilize appropriate de-escalation and crisis-prevention techniques.
• Support individualized treatment and behavior-management plans.
• Maintain professional boundaries and therapeutic communication with patients.
• Assist nursing and clinical staff with maintaining patient safety and continuity of care.
• Participate in crisis interventions according to facility policy and training.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe treatment environment.
• Follow facility policies, infection-control practices, and safety procedures.
• Collaborate effectively with nursing, clinical, medical, and behavioral health team members.

Qualifications

• Current CNA license/certification required.
• Behavioral health, mental health, substance use disorder, residential treatment, or psychiatric experience preferred.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during challenging behavioral situations.
• Compassionate, dependable, and able to maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
• Must be available to work either 3:00 PM-11:00 PM or 11:00 PM-7:00 AM.
• Must be willing to work weekends.

Position Details

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
