Job summary

Kindred Hospital El Paso is seeking a qualified Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff in an LTAC setting. You will assist with activities of daily living, provide personal care, and help deliver compassionate patient-centered care under RN supervision.

This role requires fluent English, good attendance, solid communication, and basic computer skills. Candidates should have a High School Diploma (preferred) and current CNA and BLS certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Current Nursing Assistant Certification (preferred).
• BLS Certification (preferred).
• Minimum six months’ experience in acute or long-term care facility.

Responsibilities

• Consults with and informs supervisor of unit activities, needs and problems related to patient care.
• Provides general nursing care such as positioning, turning, hygiene, and use of equipment.
• Takes and records vital signs and intake/output; documents promptly.
• Prepares patient rooms and equipment for admission, transfer, and discharge.
• Assists in admission, transfer, and discharge procedures; handles patient belongings.
• Responds to patient call lights and paging system promptly.
• Under RN direction, performs routine treatments (enemas, heat/cold applications).
• Assists with restraints under RN supervision and maintains proper positioning.
• Assists RN/LVN/LPN with more complex patient treatments.
• Serves and removes patient meal trays and assists with feeding.
