Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, Maryland is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join the Acute IMC Unit on a full-time basis. The role supports patient care under the supervision of licensed staff, with day shifts from 7am to 7pm and a 36-hour weekly schedule.

You will assist with basic to complex patient needs, participate in direct observation, and help the care team with documentation and family communication.

Qualifications

• Maryland CNA license is required.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association is required.
• Preferred: at least one year of CNA experience in an acute care setting.

Position Purpose

The CNA works in a collaborative environment at Holy Cross Health to deliver excellent patient care assistance under the supervision and direction of a designated health care professional in accordance with policies and procedures. As a Certified Nursing Assistant, You Will

• As delegated by a licensed nurse, performs essential duties appropriate to role while assisting with basic to complex patient care needs.
• Participates in direct one-to-one patient observation to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Assists delegated care team in keeping detailed records, clear communication and working with patients and families.
• The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) may be assigned to function in either the Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) or Nursing Assistant role.
• Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responds to inquiries or requests for information; and assists the immediate supervisor with tasks to support department operations.

Required

Minimum Qualifications

• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board for Certified Nursing Assistant
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• BLS certification (issued through the American Heart Association).

Preferred

• At least one year of CNA experience in an acute care setting highly preferred.

Pay Range: $18.50 – $24.00/hour

Pay is based on experience, skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
