Job summary

Citizens Medical Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support licensed nurses in delivering quality care. The role involves assisting with activities of daily living, patient mobility, nutrition, and data documentation on established patients, under the guidance of a licensed nurse.

Qualified candidates will have Texas CNA certification (or within 90 days of graduation) and BLS; completion of required nursing assistant coursework is essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of State of Texas approved nursing assistant course.
• Current Texas Department of Health certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant, or up to 90 days to obtain certification after graduation.
• BLS certification.
• Emphasis on patient rights and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with each patient’s nurse on the plan of care for the shift.
• Provides ADLs, promotes mobility, and assists with nutritional needs under supervision.
• Promotes skin care, nutrition/hydration, and decubitus prevention.
• Observes patient progress and reports significant changes to the licensed nurse promptly.
• Assists with admissions, transfers and discharges within hospital policies.
• Maintains accurate vital signs, weights, and ADLs documentation in the medical record.
• Follows universal precautions and safety policies.
