Job summary

Smith County Health and Rehab seeks weekend CNAs to care for residents in a 128-bed community in Carthage, TN. This role covers 6 am–6 pm and 6 pm–6 am shifts, requiring compassionate, reliable care and teamwork.

You'll participate in activities of daily living, document vitals, assist nurses, and communicate changes. We offer weekend pay premiums, tuition reimbursement, and ongoing training in a supportive, family-like culture.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience as a CNA in a long-term care setting preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a current state CNA certification.
• Knowledge of MatrixCare is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend to the individual needs of residents, including bathing, feeding, dressing, and ambulating.
• Record patient vital signs and assist with lifting/moving residents using proper body mechanics.
• Report changes in resident conditions to nursing management and ask clarifying questions as needed.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, peers and supervisors.
• Support the nurse with duties as directed.

CNA's are responsible for the following:

• Attend to the individual needs of residents, including bathing, feeding, dressing, and ambulating.

• Responsible for taking and recording patient vital signs lifting, moving and transporting residents, using proper body mechanics.

• Recognizing and reporting changes in resident conditions to a nurse management. Asking appropriate questions to clarify situations.

• Communicate and interact effectively and tactfully with the residents, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.

• Reporting abnormal changes or patterns to nursing staff.

• Demonstrating the ability to assist the nurse with various duties as directed.

CNA Requirements:

• At least one year of experience as a CNA in a Long Term Care setting is highly preferred.

• Must possess and maintain a current state certification as a CNA.

• Knowledge of MatrixCare preferred.
