Job summary

The Missouri Veterans Commission seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant Trainee to start immediately. Earn an hourly wage of $16.83 while you train, caring for Veterans and learning essential nursing duties.

Upon certification you advance to a full-time CNA with benefits. You must remain employed for at least 12 months after course completion; if you leave, you repay training costs. The role offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities to grow within MVC.

Qualifications

• No prior healthcare experience required.
• Genuine interest in nursing and helping others.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to Veterans, including vitals, measurements, hygiene, transfers.
• Communicate effectively and therapeutically with Veterans.
• Document in the EMR system and support meal delivery and feeding.
• Assist with dressing, grooming, and mobility as needed.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of equipment and environment.

Important Notes

• Once you complete your certification, you will be promoted to a full time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and will earn benefits
• You must remain employed with Missouri Veterans Commission for a minimum of 12 months following completion of the course
• If you leave employment, you will be required to repay all costs associated with training

Examples of Work

• Regular, reliable attendance for classroom and floor assignments
• Provide direct care to Veterans such as: taking vitals, weight/height measurements, assisting Veterans with personal hygiene needs, elimination, and transfers
• Communicate with Veterans in an effective and therapeutic manner
• Document in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Assist with meals – trays, delivery, feeding
• Assist with dressing and grooming as necessary
• Lift, clean, and move equipment
• Stand and walk for extended periods of time
