Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital Milwaukee - St. Francis is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for PRN/Per Diem night shifts in Milwaukee. The CNA will assist with bathing, feeding and basic patient care, while supporting hourly rounds and safe patient transport.

The role emphasizes compassionate care and teamwork in a critical illness recovery setting. Extensive orientation is provided; opportunities for advancement exist with potential full-time openings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or 3+ years relevant work experience)
• Hospitals CNA experience or CNA certification preferred
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with bathing and personal care.
• Participate in hourly rounds to monitor patient needs.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and assist movers as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms and equipment (bedpans, urinals, wheelchairs).
• Keep inventory and stock of supplies up to date.

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
