Responsibilities
The CNA's primary responsibility is to ensure residents receive care through various tasks such as:
- Assisting residents with bathing, toileting, oral hygiene, skin care, grooming, nail care, and dressing needs.
- Feeding residents, providing bedside water, snacks, and transferring residents to and from dining areas as needed, in accordance with nutritional care plans.
- Answering resident call lights and responding promptly to requests for assistance, following facility policy.
- Maintaining resident rooms by making beds, changing linens, cleaning bedside tables, and organizing personal belongings as needed.
- Observing and reporting any changes in residents’ appetite, skin condition, or behaviors that are out of the ordinary, according to facility policy.
- Offering emotional support and actively listening to residents to help them develop trust and independence.
- Maintaining confidentiality of all residents and their care to protect rights and privacy at all times.
- Documenting medical records such as vitals and assistance provided, following facility policy.
- Complying with safety requirements, infection control measures, and maintaining a clean work environment.

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications/requirements:
- High school diploma or GED, unless working under a student permit.
- Certification by the Florida State Department of Health as a CNA in good standing.
- Basic computer skills, including knowledge of programs like Excel and Word.
- Understanding of safe and effective nursing practices within Florida.
- Interpersonal skills such as:
- Assisting licensed nurses with procedures within the scope of practice for nurse aides;
- Following written and verbal instructions, working independently, and making decisions as needed;
- Dealing tactfully with residents, families, visitors, and staff;
- Working harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel;
- Prioritizing tasks according to standards, policies, and procedures;
- Protecting confidential information in compliance with HIPAA and corporate policies;
- Exhibiting patience, cheerfulness, enthusiasm, and maturity in resident care;
- Adhering to the professional code of ethics;
- Relaying resident condition information accurately to staff.
Availability to work every other weekend.
