Job summary

West Anaheim Medical Center in Anaheim, California, is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Float Pool to provide daily living assistance and basic nursing care under RN supervision. You may float to MedSurg, Geropsych, Telemetry, DOU, ICU/CCU, Subacute and Emergency Department as needed.

The role requires an active CNA certificate, BLS certification, and knowledge of medical terminology, with at least six months' acute care experience; prior float experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, required.
• Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
• Minimum six months experience in an acute care hospital or Skilled Nursing to float to the Subacute unit, required.

Responsibilities

• The CNA in the Float Pool is an unlicensed assistive person who assists with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-critical patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
• The CNAs in the Float Pool will be assigned as needed to the following departments, MedSurg, Geropsych, Telemetry, DOU, ICU/CCU, Subacute and Emergency Department.

The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
