Position Summary
To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by organizing unit activities, coordinating and relaying information to healthcare team members, patients, and families in an accurate and timely manner; and by assisting licensed personnel in providing direct nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Primary Accountabilities
- Deliver basic care to patients in a clean and safe environment, completing tasks promptly.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team and promote teamwork.
- Access IV solutions, medications, and supplies as needed for patient care.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment; care for equipment and supplies responsibly.
- Accurately collect, record, and report patient information.
- Be dependable, reliable, and flexible.
- Perform routine procedures competently and assist others to maintain productivity.
- Provide respectful and sensitive service to patients and families, considering their individual needs and backgrounds.
- Enhance patient experience through positive satisfaction scores, hourly rounding, and bedside shift reports.
- Contribute to the positive financial performance of the unit.
Work Experience
Minimum Qualifications
- Education:
- Possess a Florida certificate as a Nursing Assistant,
- Or completed a Nursing Assistant course and scheduled to take the Florida State exam, with certification obtained within four months (120 days) of hire,
- Or hold a Nursing Assistant license in another U.S. state and seeking Florida licensure, with certification obtained within four months (120 days) of hire.
Certification:
- American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider certification upon hire and maintained thereafter.
Experience:
- Previous healthcare experience preferred.
- Must meet unit-specific care requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to speak and understand written and verbal instructions in English.
- Proficient in computer applications.
- Capable of working in stressful environments with patients and families of various ages and backgrounds.
- Ability to prioritize and concentrate on multiple tasks.
- Respond appropriately in life-threatening situations.
- Think critically to solve problems or seek assistance.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
