Job summary

Absolute Hospice, Inc. is seeking a dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our hospice team in Canal Winchester, Ohio. This full-time position involves day shifts Monday-Friday, providing compassionate care to hospice patients in their homes or care settings.

The role requires a valid Ohio CNA license and a minimum of one year of direct patient care experience. A driver’s license and safe driving record are required. Training and ongoing nurse aide education are provided.

Qualifications

• Certified and Licensed CNA coursework completed.
• Experience in patient care preferred but not required at entry level.

Responsibilities

• Perform personal care tasks for hospice patients.
• Communicate with patients and families with respect and confidentiality.
• Provide baths, oral hygiene, grooming, and linen changes as assigned.
• Assist in dressing, meals, and feeding under supervision.
• Record vital signs and report changes to the Case Manager.
• Assist with ambulation and mobility as directed by nursing staff.
• Provide respite support to patients and caregivers when on-site.
• Maintain a clean and safe patient environment.

We are looking for a dependable CNA to join our Hospice team. Absolute Hospice, Inc. provides hospice services wherever the patient calls home. This position will be for a dedicated, full time schedule caring for our hospice patients, Monday-Friday, day shifts only.

• Certified and Licensed CNA Courses
• High school level coursework in English grammar, composition and mathematics.
• One year experience providing patient care in a hospital, nursing facility or similar environment. Current CNA license and demonstrates competency in direct patient care during probationary period.
• Valid Ohio driver's license with safe driving record and proof of insurance

Responsibilities of the hospice aide include:

• Performing personal care needs after given a patient's assignment and attending to his/her requests promptly.
• Providing patient and family with positive communication techniques, within realm of ethical and respectful care, including confidentiality.
• Giving personal care including baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos and changing bed linen as often as assigned.
• Assisting in dressing and undressing patients as assigned.
• Planning and preparing nutritious meals, including shopping, as assigned.
• Assisting in feeding the patient as assigned.
• Taking and recording oral, rectal and auxiliary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure.
• Providing proper care and observation of patient's skin to prevent breakdown of tissue over bony prominence.
• Assessing and reporting on patient's condition and significant changes to the Case Manager. Also aware of the caregiver or other individuals living with the patient and interpersonal issues.
• Assisting in ambulation and exercise as instructed by the hospice nurse or therapist.
• Offering and assisting with bedpans and urinals. Providing assistance as assigned with light laundry needs.
• Providing respite for patient's/family/caregiver when on-site, as appropriate.
