Job summary

Absolute Hospice, Inc. is seeking a dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Hospice team for a full-time schedule. The role involves caring for hospice patients wherever they call home, with Monday-Friday day shifts.

You will provide compassionate personal care, support to families, and maintain patient comfort and safety. The position requires a valid CNA license and one year of direct patient care experience.

Qualifications

• One year of patient care experience in hospital, nursing facility or similar setting.
• Current CNA license.

Responsibilities

• Performing personal care needs after given a patient's assignment and attending to his/her requests promptly.
• Providing patient and family with positive communication techniques, within realm of ethical and respectful care, including confidentiality.
• Giving personal care including baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos and changing bed linen as often as assigned.
• Assisting in dressing and undressing patients as assigned.
• Planning and preparing nutritious meals, including shopping, as assigned.
• Assisting in feeding the patient as assigned.
• Taking and recording oral, rectal and auxiliary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure.
• Providing proper care and observation of patient's skin to prevent breakdown of tissue over bony prominence.
• Assessing and reporting on patient's condition and significant changes to the Case Manager. Also aware of the caregiver or other individuals living with the patient and interpersonal issues.
• Assisting in ambulation and exercise as instructed by the hospice nurse or therapist.
• Offering and assisting with bedpans and urinals. Providing assistance as assigned with light laundry needs.
• Providing respite for patient's/family/caregiver when on-site, as appropriate.

We are looking for a dependable CNA to join our Hospice team. Absolute Hospice, Inc. provides hospice services wherever the patient calls home. This position will be for a dedicated, full time schedule caring for our hospice patients, Monday-Friday, day shifts only.

Minimum Education

• Certified and Licensed CNA Courses
• High school level coursework in English grammar, composition and mathematics.

Minimum Work Experience

• One year experience providing patient care in a hospital, nursing facility or similar environment. Current CNA license and demonstrates competency in direct patient care during probationary period.
• Valid Ohio driver's license with safe driving record and proof of insurance
