Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Milwaukee - West Allis is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a full-time night shift (7:00pm–7:00am) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. You will provide compassionate patient care, assist with daily living activities, and support the care team in a tertiary post-ICU setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or relevant work experience) required.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant or CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform bathing, oral care, feeding and hair care for patients.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients and assist transporters as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs.
• Keep patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
