Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Omaha is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide compassionate care on day shifts in a 12-hour schedule. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor patient comfort, and support the care team in a high-acuity post-ICU setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 3+ years of related healthcare work experience may be considered.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Hospital experience as CNA or related field or CNA certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with bathing, oral hygiene, oral feeding and hair care.
• Participate in hourly rounds to monitor patients' needs.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and assist mobility aids.
• Maintain cleanliness of bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.
• Keep patient rooms clean and orderly; restock supplies as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
