Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Orlando South in Orlando, FL is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide compassionate care and support to patients recovering from critical illnesses. You will perform basic nursing tasks, assist with activities of daily living, monitor patient condition, and collaborate with the healthcare team during 12-hour day shifts with competitive shift differentials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 3+ years of relevant work experience preferred.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant or certification as a CNA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with bathing using basin-less bath products and oral hygiene.
• Provide oral feeding support and hair care as part of daily care.
• Conduct hourly rounds and ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and assist with stretcher/wheelchair transfers.
• Maintain cleanliness of rooms, instruments, and equipment; restock supplies as directed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by nursing staff.

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
