Job description

Responsibilities

1. Assist licensed nursing personnel in providing nursing care.
2. Participate as a member of the healthcare team under the supervision of a licensed nurse, following Standards and Authorized Duties for Certified Nursing Assistants (OAR 851-63-0010 - 0060, 0080, 0090) or Nursing Assistants (WAC 246-841-400, 405).
3. Assist with clerical functions, housekeeping, and patient transportation throughout the hospital.
4. Be flexible to float to various sites throughout Legacy Health as needed.
5. Provide delegated care under the supervision of a registered nurse, tailored to the patient’s condition, development, and age.
6. Participate in developing and implementing the plan of care, considering patient needs, desires, and routines.
7. Encourage self-care and independence as appropriate.
8. Identify normal and abnormal mental functions and address the needs of cognitively impaired patients.
9. Maintain the client’s environment, avoid hazards, use restraints properly, and follow infection control procedures.
10. Recognize signs of common disease conditions and communicate effectively and promptly.
11. Support basic nutrition and hydration needs.
12. Respond appropriately to emergencies, demonstrating knowledge of emergency procedures.
13. Complete documentation according to guidelines.

Competency

1. Understand statutes and regulations, functioning within the legal scope of practice for CNAs.
2. Maintain current certification and perform acts within the authorized scope.
3. Demonstrate ongoing competency in technical skills through education and clinical experience.

Qualifications
