Job summary

Maine Veterans' Homes seeks compassionate Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our care team in Maine. CNAs assist residents with daily living, support dignity and safety, and work under the supervision of the nursing staff.

We offer day shifts (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM) with 12-hour shifts, every other weekend required, competitive pay, MainePERS, PTO, health/dental/vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, and growth opportunities within a mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification on the Maine CNA Registry.
• 0+ years of CNA experience welcome.
• New CNA graduates and experienced CNAs encouraged to apply.
• Ability to work professionally and collaboratively with residents, families, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
• Deliver routine nursing care in accordance with individualized care plans and established nursing standards.
• Observe and report changes in residents' physical, emotional, or cognitive condition to the nursing team.
• Support residents' independence, preferences, dignity, and safety.
• Assist with positioning, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with nurses, fellow CNAs, residents, families, and other team members.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment.
• Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality standards.

Our Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) are assigned to a specific care area, which may include memory care, long-term care, or skilled nursing, depending on the position.

Position Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a valued member of the nursing team responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living and providing routine nursing care in accordance with each resident's individualized care plan. The CNA works closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to promote residents' dignity, comfort, safety, and quality of life.
