Job summary

Maine Veterans' Homes is seeking compassionate CNAs to join our care team in Bangor, ME. CNAs assist residents with daily living activities and provide routine nursing care under individualized care plans, promoting dignity, comfort, and safety.

We offer flexible full-time and part-time scheduling, including 8- and 12-hour shifts, with 4 days on/2 days off rotations and every other weekend rotations. On-site roles include engaging with memory care, long-term care, or skilled nursing residents.

Qualifications

• Active Maine CNA Registry certification in good standing.
• Ability to work with residents in memory care, long-term care, or skilled settings.
• Proven ability to follow care plans and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
• Provide routine nursing care per individualized care plans and nursing standards.
• Observe resident changes and report to the nursing team promptly.
• Support independence, dignity, and safety for residents.
• Assist with positioning, transfers, and ambulation using proper techniques.
• Communicate effectively with nurses, residents, and families.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized environment.
• Document care per facility policies.
• Follow infection control and confidentiality protocols.

Join Our Care Team

We are seeking compassionate and dependable Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our team. CNAs are assigned to a specific care area, which may include memory care, long-term care, or skilled nursing, depending on the position. The CNA is a valued member of the nursing team responsible for assisting residents with daily living activities and providing routine nursing care in accordance with each resident's individualized care plan. This role supports residents in a designated care setting while promoting dignity, comfort, and safety

Flexible 8 and 12-hourshift schedules available!

• Five 8-hourshifts per week
• 312-hourshifts per week
• 4 days on, 2 days off rotations
• Every other weekend rotations
• Baylor schedules

Key Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
• Deliver care in accordance with individualized care plans and established nursing standards
• Observe and report changes in residents' physical, emotional, or cognitive condition to the nursing team
• Support residents' independence, preferences, and dignity while maintaining safety
• Assist with positioning, transfers, and ambulation using proper techniques
• Communicate effectively with nurses, team members, residents, and families
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment
• Document care provided according to facility policies
• Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality protocols

Requirements

• Active and in-good-standing certification on the Maine CNA Registry
• Ability to work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers, residents, families, and supervisors
• Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
• Basic computer skills
