Job summary

Mesquite Village Wellness & Rehabilitation is seeking a Nurse Aide to provide basic nursing care to residents under supervision. You will participate in shift reports and support daily living activities as directed by licensed staff.

The role requires completion of state-approved Nurse Aide training and current listing on the state registry, along with strong communication and documentation skills. This is an on-site position at our Mesquite facility, with a focus on resident comfort and safety.

Qualifications

• Must have completed State Approved Nurse Aide Training and be listed on State Registry as Nurse Aide in good standing.
• Ability to communicate with residents and nursing staff; reading and writing skills adequate for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Receive nursing report upon reporting for duty.
• Assist residents with bathing, grooming, hygiene and placement of adaptive equipment.
• Explain procedures to residents before administering care.
• Keep residents dry and change gowns/linens as needed when wet or soiled.
• Change bed linens and keep them tight to avoid wrinkles.
• Make beds for both occupied and unoccupied residents.

Job description

Objective

Provides basic nursing care to residents within the scope of the nursing assistant responsibilities and performs basic nursing procedures under the direction of the licensed nurse supervisor.

Principal Responsibilities

• Participates in and receives nursing report upon reporting for duty
• Assists residents with resident care including bathing, grooming, hygiene and placement of adaptive equipment
• Explains procedures to residents before administering
• Keeps residents dry (changes gown, clothing, linen, etc., when it becomes wet or soiled)
• Changes bed linens and keeps linens tight to avoid wrinkles from forming under residents
• Makes beds (occupied and unoccupied)

Qualifications

• Successful completion of State Approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program; Name must appear on State Registry as Nurse Aide in good standing; Ability to communicate with residents and nursing staff; Must have the ability to read and write.
• Prior experience as Nurse Aide preferred but not required
