Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our healthcare team. This full-time and part-time position offers 12-hour shifts, allowing flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patient lives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and experience working with geriatric individuals. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care while ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity for all patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort.
- Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Support medical staff by preparing patients for examinations or procedures using aseptic techniques and maintaining sterile environments.
- Assist with patient transfers utilizing equipment such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques to ensure safe mobility.
- Provide compassionate dementia, Alzheimer’s, memory care, and behavioral health support tailored to individual needs.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations while documenting medical records and care activities thoroughly.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams in a long-term care facility setting.
- Participate in infection control practices and adhere to safety protocols during all caregiving activities.
Requirements
- Valid CNA certification with current licensure in the applicable state or region.
- Prior experience working in long-term care facilities, hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), assisted living communities, or home care environments is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as PCC
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following safe lifting practices; experience with manual handling equipment is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to provide empathetic patient service.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is a plus.
- Knowledge of infection control procedures, aseptic technique, catheter care, and dementia or Alzheimer’s care is desirable.
