Job summary

Vernon Health and Living in Wabash, IN is seeking a caring Certified Nursing Assistant to join our Pediatric and Adult long-term care team. You will provide hands-on personal care to residents, assist with daily routines, and support our nursing floor as the heartbeat of care.

The role requires a current CNA license in Indiana, completion of a state-approved Nurse Aide Training program, and a friendly, compassionate approach.

Qualifications

• Current CNA license in the state of practice is required.
• Completion of a state-approved Nurse Aide Training program is required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral hygiene.
• Help residents with meals, hydration, and feeding as needed.
• Assist with transfers, ambulation, and repositioning.
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to the nurse.
• Respond promptly to call lights with a caring attitude.
• Follow care plans, infection control, and safety standards.
• Document care provided accurately each shift.

What You'll Do

Requirements

• Current, valid CNA license in the state of practice
• Completion of a state-approved Nurse Aide Training program
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred
• Long-term care experience preferred — new graduates welcome
• Genuine compassion for elderly and medically complex residents
• Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays
