Position Details

As a CNA at SWC, you will complete classroom orientation and on-the-floor training in the first 3 weeks.

  • New CNAs will be offered available evening and night shift positions with every other weekend off. Day shifts and 12- or 14-hour shifts may be available on a limited basis.
  • CNAs can sign for transfers to different shifts as they become available. Shifts are assigned to staff by seniority.
  • All positions require the ability to work scheduled hours and may include mandatory overtime as needed with shifts up to 15.5 hours long. Holidays, personal and sick time may be used during the first 6 months.
  • Vacation time may not be available after 6 months of employment.
  • Full-time and part-time positions are available.
Position Summary

We are hiring Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) at the Objective and Advanced level. The classification/position level will be determined based on the qualifications listed below as well as facility needs.

Objective level: Providing care to individuals with intellectual disabilities (IID), personal hygiene care, observing and reporting behavioral, mental, and physical changes, assisting residents to stand, and promoting a positive living environment.

Advanced level: Providing short-term care and support to individuals with IDD engaging in challenging behaviors, implementing complex treatment plans to promote safety, skill development, and behavior reduction.

Salary Information

Starting pay ranges from $25.06 to $28.16/hour for Objective and $26.42 to $29.73/hour for Advanced, depending on seniority. Additional increases are based on years of service.

  • Night and weekend differentials of $0.80/hour apply.
  • $2,000 sign-on bonus for those with no recent state service, split as $1,000 upon hire and $1,000 after probation.
  • 12-month probationary period required.
Job Requirements
  • Allow DHS to conduct background checks and screening.
  • Receive TB skin test and pass a physical evaluation including lifting up to 55 lbs., bending, kneeling, etc.
  • Complete orientation within the first 5 weeks.
  • Work scheduled hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Verify eligibility to work in the U.S. via I-9 form.
Qualifications
  • Valid CNA certification.
  • Availability for full-time, part-time, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to read, interpret charts, and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred qualifications include experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities, working in multidisciplinary teams, and following care plans.
