Job summary

Visiting Angels - Lufkin, TX is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide compassionate in-home and community care across Deep East Texas.

You will assist with mobility, personal care, meal prep, light housekeeping, and accompany clients on errands, while pursuing opportunities for advanced training in dementia and Alzheimer’s care.

This role supports both full-time and part-time shifts with weekly pay and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference for local families.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be a compassionate caregiver with a true dedication to serving others.
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Experience with light housekeeping, meal preparation and personal care.
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards and exhibit empathy.
• Experience with bathing assistance and transferring seniors.
• 2 years of professional elderly care experience or CNA certification.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medications and assist with ambulation and mobility.
• Provide personal care, bathing assistance and incontinence care as needed.
• Assist with routine exercises and mobility around the home or outdoors.
• Plan and assist with meals and grocery shopping or accompany clients to appointments.
• Perform light housekeeping and be a supportive companion.
• Report any unusual incidents and act quickly in emergencies.

Certified Nursing Assistant - CNA Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (Transferring assistance using hoyer lifts or gait belts or walkers and wheelchairs.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene (Bathing assistance and incontinence care)
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop (grocery shopping, salon, dr appointments)
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Certified Nursing Assistant - CNA Requirements

• Passion to serve others - a true caregiver
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Respectful and compassionate
• Experience with Bathing assistance and incontinence care
• Experience with Transferring seniors using a hoyer lift or gait belt
• Strong ethics
• Knowledge of Alzheimer's and Dementia
• 2 years professional experience with the elderly in a Facility or with an agency or have a CNA certification
