Visiting Angels Lufkin is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support seniors in Deep East Texas, including Livingston. The role emphasizes compassion, mobility assistance, meal prep, medication assistance, and companionship within private homes or community settings.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with dietary awareness.

• Experience with bathing assistance and incontinence care.
• Experience with transferring seniors using a hoyer lift or gait belt.
• Knowledge of Alzheimer's and dementia.
• 2 years of professional elderly care experience or CNA certification.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene.
• Support clients with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with client input.
• Shop for clients or accompany them to appointments.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks.

Certified Nursing Assistant - CNA Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication


• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (Transferring assistance using hoyer lifts or gait belts or walkers and wheelchairs.)


• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene (Bathing assistance and incontinence care)


• Help clients with routine exercises


• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)


• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop (grocery shopping, salon, dr appointments)


• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own


• Be a pleasant and supportive companion


• Report any unusual incidents


• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Certified Nursing Assistant - CNA Requirements
