Job summary

Wellspring Lutheran Services is seeking a part-time or full-time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join the Saginaw Assisted Living team. This role supports seniors in the community, providing direct care and collaborating with a caregiver supervisor in Saginaw County.

The position requires a CNA license, and a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Employment offers rotating shifts, with starting pay at $16.00 per hour and benefits that include insurance and paid time off.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide care per resident care plan and report to caregiver supervisor.
• Record vital signs and blood glucose as instructed.
• Administer medications per MAR and document administration.
• Report deviations from MAR or dosing errors.
• Document medication administration details and refusals.
• Identify and report signs of change in condition.
• Assist residents during meals and monitor dietary needs.
• Perform simple dressing changes and topical treatments as needed.
• Respond to emergencies and assist supervisor accordingly.
• Complete assigned caregiver tasks in a timely manner.

Description

Wellspring Lutheran Services is a statewide nonprofit dedicated to serving seniors, families and children throughout Michigan. We are currently seeking a part-time or full-time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Saginaw Assisted Living team. In this position, you'll be directly supporting your community in Saginaw County.

Responsibilities

• Provides care in the following areas according to the resident care sheet and direction of the caregiver supervisor; immediately reports to the supervisor when the assignment cannot be completed
• Performs and documents vital signs and blood sugar testing as required related to medications administration
• Administers medications as set up and according to the medication administration record (MAR)
• Reports any deviation from MAR and medication dosing system
• Properly documents medication administration information including refusal of routine medications and PRN medication administration
• Observes for and reports signs and symptoms that might be related to medications or changes in condition
• Assists residents at meal time and report any ongoing dietary problems
• Performs minor treatments including application of therapeutic creams and simple dressing changes
• Responds to emergencies and assists supervisor with management of the same
• Completes any assigned caregiver tasks

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant license, required
• Experience in caregiving and working with elders in a long-term care setting

Schedule And Compensation

• Employment type: Full-time, Part-time
• Shift: Day Shift (6:00am – 6:00pm) or Night Shift (6:00pm – 6:00am)
• Weekends: rotation every other weekend
• Starting pay: $16.00/hour
