Responsibilities

• Assist nurses by performing basic care activities related to patients' personal needs and comfort
• Dress, groom, bathe, feed, and record vital signs of patients
• Respond to call lights, assist with toileting, oral and nail care, catheter care, help patients in wheelchairs, transport patients, turn bedridden patients, report changes, and handle waste
• Must be certified as a Nurse Assistant; perform duties within Standards of Practice as per certification
• Provide simple or uncomplicated patient care
• Clean rooms and change bed linens
• Measure and record temperature, pulse, and respiration rates
• Administer medication as directed by physician or nurse, and document the administration
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18 years
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
• Certification as a CNA or Home Health Care Aide, as required by state licensure
• Completion of a recognized home care aide training program or at least 6 months of recent experience as an aide
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., and sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, and reach as necessary
