Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant at MCI-Norfolk in Norfolk, Massachusetts. The CNA supports physicians and nurses, performs vital signs, EKGs, and blood draws, and assists with patient care and treatments.

Position is part-time, day shift with a comprehensive benefits package including health coverage, 401(k), PTO, and annual incentive opportunities. Security clearance is required, and prior acute care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Certified by professional organization in the state.
• Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance requirements.
• Acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Takes vitals, height and weight.
• Assists physicians and nurses with patient care.
• Draws blood and records intake/output.
• Assists with patient treatments (dressing changes, decubitus ulcers, tracheostomy care).
• Adheres to Universal Precautions and Infection Control procedures.
• Schedules appointments and participates in disaster drills.
• Proficient with CPR and maintains re-certification training.
• Maintains equipment sterilization, safety and security.

CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Certified by professional organization in the state.
• Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance requirements.
• Acute care experience preferred.

CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Takes vital signs, height and weight.
• Assists with PPDs and EKGs.
• Draws blood.
• Measures and records intake and output.
• Assists with patient treatments such as dressing changes, decubitus ulcer, and tracheostomy care.
• Adheres to Universal Precaution procedures and established Infection Control procedures.
• Schedules appointments.
• Adheres to safety and security policies and participates in disaster drills.
• Is proficient with CPR and recognizes need to implement. Receive re‑certification training annually.
• Assists in cleaning, sterilizing and securing of equipment.
• Follows security regulations for keys, sharps, and controlled medications.
