Key Responsibilities
- Provides basic nursing care to patients under the direction of a licensed nurse, including assistance with ADLs, vital sign measurement, and accurate documentation.
- Maintains professional behavior and prioritizes workflow to complete all assigned duties while adhering to policies and promoting patient safety and confidentiality.
- Collaborates with other healthcare team members, participates in staff meetings and training sessions, and notifies the licensed nurse of any patient concerns.
- Demonstrates basic knowledge of nursing procedures and proficiently uses medical supplies and equipment, ensuring proper storage and cleaning.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervising nurse, such as assisting with patient care in different units and orienting new staff members.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of approved nursing assistant training course.
Experience
- Knowledge of basic patient care methods, procedures, and techniques.
- Ability to handle routine tasks in an orderly manner.
- Must pass background check and drug screening.
- Must pass and maintain clearance for a Public Trust Position, if applicable.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Proficiency with computers and common software (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, database systems).
Licenses/Certifications
- Current state certification in nursing assistance required.
