$16.00/hr - $16.00/hr

Cedar Creek of Marion, a regional healthcare provider and true friend of older adults, seeks a service-minded, career-oriented individual to join our team as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA) at our Cedar Creek of Marion community.

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will assist and provide direction to residents with personal care needs which enable the resident to maintain good personal hygiene, to carry out activities of daily living, to maintain good health, and to participate in the activities of the community.

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you will impact the lives of our residents by:

  • Assisting and providing direction to residents regarding their personal care needs, which include but are not limited to, grooming, hygiene, dressing, nutrition, etc.
  • Answering signal lights, bells, or intercom system to determine residents needs using a proactive approach.
  • Taking and recording temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output, as directed.
  • Transporting residents or assisting residents with walking along with turning or repositioning residents alone or with assistance.
  • Changing bed linens, running errands, directing visitors, and answering telephone.
  • Assisting with laundry and housekeeping duties.
  • Assisting residents to and from dining room as needed and assisting with meals.
  • Encouraging and assisting residents to participate in activities.
  • Listening and understanding the problems of residents and reporting observations immediately to the care team as needed.
  • Promoting the physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing of each resident and striving to maintain the ultimate goal, which is to return the resident to their maximum level of self-care and independence, when possible.
  • Understanding the residents’ Advance Directives and following their wishes.
  • Ensuring effective communication with residents’ families concerning residents’ care, encompassing physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Working well with others and taking direction from management, as well as engaging in conflict intervention and resolution as needed.
  • The physical demands include standing/moving, communicating, and identifying written information. The employee may occasionally need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift/move up to 50 pounds independently, or up to 200 pounds with assistance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

To become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you will need:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited CNA program preferred.
  • One year of experience as a CNA preferred.
  • CPR or BLS certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Internet browsers, Microsoft Office programs, electronic health records, and HR systems if applicable.
  • Dependability and ability to meet scheduling requirements.
  • Knowledge of laws and restrictions regarding senior living care, and understanding of levels of care within senior living.
