JOB SUMMARY:

The purpose of this position is to assist nurses in providing resident care, primarily in daily living routines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must hold a current Certified Nurse's Assistant certificate in Illinois.
• A high school diploma is preferred.
• Ability and willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Physically and mentally capable of performing routine, repetitive duties.
• Willingness to provide good nursing care.
• Professional, considerate, and pleasant in duties.
• Compassion, tolerance, and understanding for residents.
• Knowledge of JCAHO, OBRA, IDPH, and HFS regulations.

MAIN DUTIES:

1. Support the facility's philosophy of care and achieve its goals.
2. Respond professionally to residents' families.
3. Perform resident care tasks: bathing, dressing, grooming, shaving, feeding, restorative procedures, retraining.
4. Maintain cleanliness of residents' areas.
5. Answer call lights promptly.
6. Assist with check-in, transfers, and clothing management.
7. Report changes in residents' conditions.
8. Turn bedridden residents regularly.
9. Assist with incontinent residents.
10. Support the treatment nurse as needed.
11. Complete shift reports.
12. Ensure residents' well-being and record vital signs and weights.
13. Document in EMR: vital signs, weight, meal monitoring, bowel and bladder, restorative records.
14. Identify and report potential hazards.
15. Maintain infection control and safety practices.
16. Follow safety precautions and equipment protocols.
17. Ensure equipment is cleaned and ready for next use.
18. Follow work schedules and maintain resident confidentiality.
19. Attend relevant meetings and training.
20. Perform other duties as directed.
