JOB SUMMARY:
The purpose of this position is to assist nurses in providing resident care, primarily in daily living routines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must hold a current Certified Nurse's Assistant certificate in Illinois.
- A high school diploma is preferred.
- Ability and willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Physically and mentally capable of performing routine, repetitive duties.
- Willingness to provide good nursing care.
- Professional, considerate, and pleasant in duties.
- Compassion, tolerance, and understanding for residents.
- Knowledge of JCAHO, OBRA, IDPH, and HFS regulations.
MAIN DUTIES:
- Support the facility's philosophy of care and achieve its goals.
- Respond professionally to residents' families.
- Perform resident care tasks: bathing, dressing, grooming, shaving, feeding, restorative procedures, retraining.
- Maintain cleanliness of residents' areas.
- Answer call lights promptly.
- Assist with check-in, transfers, and clothing management.
- Report changes in residents' conditions.
- Turn bedridden residents regularly.
- Assist with incontinent residents.
- Support the treatment nurse as needed.
- Complete shift reports.
- Ensure residents' well-being and record vital signs and weights.
- Document in EMR: vital signs, weight, meal monitoring, bowel and bladder, restorative records.
- Identify and report potential hazards.
- Maintain infection control and safety practices.
- Follow safety precautions and equipment protocols.
- Ensure equipment is cleaned and ready for next use.
- Follow work schedules and maintain resident confidentiality.
- Attend relevant meetings and training.
- Perform other duties as directed.
