Job summary

Cherokee Park Rehabilitation in Louisville, KY is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to support residents on day and night shifts, assisting with bathing, feeding, dressing, and mobility while ensuring safety and dignity. You will document vital signs, aid in transfers, and promptly report changes to the nurse, while communicating with residents, families, and staff to maintain a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold current state CNA certification.
• One year of experience in long-term care preferred.
• Excellent communication and compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Attend to residents' needs including bathing, feeding, dressing and ambulating.
• Take and record vital signs; assist with transfers and mobility.
• Recognize and report changes in residents to a nurse manager.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, peers, and supervisors.
• Report abnormal changes to nursing staff.
• Assist the nurse with duties as directed.

CNA’s are responsible for the following:

• Attend to the individual needs of residents, including bathing, feeding, dressing, and ambulating.

• Responsible for taking and recording patient vital signs, lifting, moving, and transporting residents, using proper body mechanics.

• Recognizing and reporting changes in resident conditions to a nurse manager. Asking appropriate questions to clarify situations.

• Communicating and interacting effectively and tactfully with the residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.

• Reporting abnormal changes or patterns to nursing staff.

• Demonstrating the ability to assist the nurse with various duties as directed.

CNA Requirements:

• At least one year of experience as a CNA in a long-term care setting is highly preferred.

• Must possess and maintain a current state certification as a CNA
