Job summary

The Aspenwood Company – The Village of River Oaks in Houston, TX, is seeking compassionate CNAs to support seniors in a warm, homelike community. We may cover CNA training costs for full-time hires.

Shifts available: 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m., 10:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m.; weekends and holidays required. Benefit options include 401K, PTO, health care and more.

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
• Must pass a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, dining).
• Serve meals in dining room or residents' apartments; assist in meal preparation and promote proper nutrition and hydration.
• Promote socialization by facilitating leisure activities and friendships.
• Maintain accurate records of leisure activities, incidents, observations, and changes in residents' conditions.
• Keep environment clean, safe, and orderly through housekeeping duties.
• Follow procedures during emergencies and respond promptly to requests for assistance.
• Track residents' locations, prompt reporting if a resident cannot be located.
• Encourage teamwork and positive interactions with co-workers.
• Maintain high standards of appearance, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
• Attend all required in-service training sessions.
• Be an active member of the community emergency response team.

Location: The Village of River Oaks, an Independent and Assisted Living with Memory Care senior community

Shifts Available

PRN – all shifts

Must be available to work weekends and holidays.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve meals in the dining room or residents' apartments, assist in meal preparation, and promote proper nutrition and hydration, respecting residents' right to free choice.
• Participate in and initiate leisure activities, encouraging residents to socialize and form friendships.
• Maintain accurate and timely records, documenting leisure activities, incidents, observations, and changes in residents' conditions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment by performing general housekeeping duties.
• Follow proper procedures during emergencies and respond promptly to resident requests for assistance.
• Keep track of residents' locations, remind them to sign out when leaving, and promptly report if a resident cannot be located.
• Promote teamwork through positive interactions with co-workers.
• Maintain high standards of appearance, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
• Attend all required in-service training sessions.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Current CNA certification.
• High School diploma or GED required.
