As a CNA, you will:
- Provide quality nursing care, promote resident rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and individuality.
- Offer individualized attention and encourage residents to maintain or attain their highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
- Follow individualized care plans and communicate residents' needs, changes, and preferences to care planning staff.
- Attend to residents' needs, including grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, and communication, in accordance with care requirements.
- Maintain skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears, and other damage by changing incontinent residents, repositioning, and applying moisturizers to fragile skin.
- Protect residents' personal belongings and report missing items promptly.
- Take vital signs, weigh residents, apply creams/ointments, collect specimens, and assist with lifting, moving, and transporting residents using proper body mechanics or lifting devices.
- Document care activities according to department policies.
- Follow prescribed safety and infection control procedures.
- Communicate tactfully with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
Current Requirements:
- Possess a valid CNA certification in the state of employment.
- Ability to obtain CPR/BLS certification.
